Weekly Assignment #95: Show Your Mug!

No, we're not talking county shots. We're talking actual coffee (or tea, or whatever your poison is) mugs.
Mug (or mugs) should be the primary subject of your picture. It also should say something about its owner (you?), by context, or content, or whatever.
Strive for technical excellency is always appreciated, we don't need no cheap snapshots, even with mugshots:-)
Let's shoot some mugs!

Very Nice! I had something very similar in mind. My username will give you a clue why.

Guess I will come up with something different just to keep this interesting.

Forgive me for questioning, but.. is it a composite image? If so, can we have a more original capture? In this class any major PS work is only allowed when explicitely mentioned...deal.gif

Why would you need a tripod to remove the content? mwink.gif
And... come on... could you possibly pick a more boring angle? mwink.gif
I *know* you can do better with this! deal.gifthumb.gif

    Dave,
    1) What's with all the NOISE? eek7.gif
    2) Too much negative space on top. rolleyes1.gif
    3) And please read the lead post: we need to see the content, and it must tell us about *you*

I say: get more light, change the vantage point, lower your ISO and leave square format to Antonio mwink.gif - landscape will do just fine deal.gif

Got another idea and will give it a try later today I hope. ISO 200 but see now that I'm way to the left on the histogram.

    Thanks.

Dave, you're now good content- and theme-wise.thumb.gif
Now, how about a "strive for technical excellency"? mwink.gif

This any better? Overhead light from kitchen and CTO gelled gridded strobe camera left side for fill on the mug.

After a long absence, another post...

    1149891806_hRsVu-L.jpg

Hope the color looks OK. (Haven't calibrated a new Dell monitor yet, and this looks great on the mac in sRGB and over saturated on the Dell.)

    Thanks!
