What Kind of Waders do you use?

What are you guys using when your walking into rivers or lakes? Could be knee height water or waist height. The last time I went shin height in the Ocean I used wetsuit booties and they worked great but, if the water is much higher it would get cold very fast.

I'd like to have something I can throw in my backpack, hike into an area using my regular boots and once at the water would pull out the booties or waders.

Thanks

Breathable (light, expensive) for warm or active use
Non-breathable (light, cheaper) for warm or active use
Neoprene (heavy, bulky, moderately priced) for cold or inactive use
