Uploading to my galleries seems to take forever . . .I've tried playing with the settings a little but nothing seems to make a difference. Here's a copy of a speed test from the help pages . . .I have no idea how to intepret it . . .where does it fit into the equation?

Your upload speed is 1.91 Mega bits / sec. That means it would be 1.91 / 8 = 239 kBytes / sec or 0.239 MBytes / sec (there are 8 bits in a byte). So, for a typical 5MB image, it would take about 21 seconds in a perfect world. Of course, the world is never perfect and there is some upload overhead, but it seems like a 5MB image should upload in around 30 seconds. 20 images would take 10 minutes. Is that what you are experiencing?

    Hi John,

Seems about right . . .seems very slowo to me . . .I'm using LR 3.3 publish services for the uploads.

LR Publishing Manager settings as follows:
    File Settings Format = jpeg
File Settings Quality = silder set to 80 (no idea what this numbers means)
    Image Sizing = 1,000 pixels x 1,000 pixels

That's just how long it takes. You have a modestly fast internet connection, not blazingly fast, but probably faster than most. Multi-megabyte images are just big files and it takes awhile to upload them. I do most of my uploading by configuring the upload/uploads, starting it and then go do something else so I'm not sitting there waiting for it. I often do large uploads overnight. Your image quality setting of 80 is about right. I use 80 or 85 in Lightroom when exporting images for Smugmug upload.
