I thought I had put these up, but apparently not. Every year, Davis-Monthan holds the HFC which brings in old warbirds and new, to work on flight formations for the upcoming air show season. Here's a few shots from March 4th.

On the right......Sarah. She was tasked with being my wrangler for the day. Basically she had to chase me around the flight line, make sure I was not sucked into a jet engine, or chopped up by a prop, and bring me water. She was a real sweetheart, and very smart.

About half of the wranglers. There were only sixteen of us who had full access to the flight line this morning. It was great.

All of us taking pictures on the flight line had to fight the sun all day, so the pics aren't as good as any of us would like. But, you do what you can with what you are given. Regardless, the people on base were nothing less than awesome and everyone there had an excellent morning.

Terrific images Scott. clap.gif The P-38 Lightning and P-51 Mustang bring back fond memories as they were two of the first models I made as a kid back in the 1950's.

    Awesome pics!clap.gifclapclap.gif

What lenses are you using on these? Were they all handheld or tripod?

I have always had a fascination for our military aircraft even though I am not a flying enthusiast. Some of my uncles were in the airforce and have flown in many of those planes.

    Thanks for the pics.

Sorry I didn't include any shooting info.

They are all hand held. It's a mix of my 5D Mk2 and 7D, swithing lenses back and forth using a Canon 400mm F/5.6 and a 70-200 F/2.8 IS L. I also took the wide shots with my Canon 10-22 EF-S (loving that lens) on my 7D.
