Great stuff, esp no. 7 (real bride or model?)

One slight thing, maybe the skin smoothing round the eyes a bit too much on 1.

Number 6 and the lower shot on 8 (maybe it is 9 the closeup with the veil) are really top shelf work. That veil shot would look amazing anywhere....it doesn't hurt that the bride is drop dead classy!
Nice overall but those two shots are Wow's!

    Well thank you all! :)

Here is one that didn't make the cut for this set: 1135826473_F5KAd-M.jpg

So you can see it is a simple two light setup... Shoot through brolly, camera right, and a bare speedlight camera left and behind the subject for rim and flair. Sneaky? Yes. I metered for the sunrise and then used the flash to illuminate our subject. She is an outdoorsey girl, so she wanted all (yes ALL) of her group pics outside in the snow. My fingers were so numb, and I was wearing a wool coat and gloves.

#7 is just about the same only the other direction, just lower the temperature by about 15 degrees....brrr. Two light setup, shoot through brolly to camera left, and then a rim light behind and to the right of the subject for some separation. I could have dropped the ambient quite a bit more, but I only had about 3 minutes to setup and shoot before she would get too cold. So I was hustling. As far as keeping the girls warm... we shoot quick and dirty, and get it done and get them inside as quick as we can. No, she is not a model. Funny you should say that, because she shocked everyone. I mean she is pretty, but nobody had ANY idea just how gorgeous would be when a MUA and hair designer got ahold of her. If you look at her FB pics, she just looks like a regular girl.... it was crazy! Her huz just kept gushing about how gorgeous she was. (She really was, too)
The ones in the pews were a single light setup. I never moved the lights, just myself for both of them. The first one, I used natural window light for the rim and then put the flash lined up and higher than her nose. The second one, I used window light for fill, which is why it isn't as even. And then the flash lights up her face with some short, loop lighting. In 9 all the pics are natural window light, except the flower detail shot. That one is 1 umbrella to camera left.

    3, 4, 5 & 6 are a single umbrella/ speedlight set. Pretty easy.

Thanks to all for your sweetness! iloveyou.gif

I like odd things! 1, 3, 5, and 7 are faves. 7 looks straight out of a magazine. 5 is my most favority fave because of that wonderful perspective and how you used it to soften the bussiness of the room. Beautiful work Heather! Just stunning.

I just saw this. This is a neat story and how cool that you get to be there to not only catch the most important day of her life but also the day she looked her most beautiful ever. How cool is that! She really has that "Breakfast at Tiffani's" thing going on. How much direction did you give her positioning her face and eyes or did she self pose this way? She really does look like a pro.

Amazing and inspiring imagery Heather. This is quality I can still only aspire to achieve! I would hire you in a heartbeat, but Wasilla is not my destination of choice, so it may be Bora Bora instead.

Super pristine work you have shown here. Your clients are great photographer picker-outers!

I didn't mean to come accross as being engaged. I was just speculating and tossing out hypothicals. But thanks for the well wishes, and I will apply them later at some point when I do get to that point.
I was in Bora Bora about 2 years ago. I can tell you for sure, it does feel nice, though tropical. Yes, you would thaw out completely in a day or two. You would also be on my short list to shoot my wedding if I should ever find a woman crazy enough to marry me (like the first one was). rolleyes1.gif
