My vball photos from Colorado Crossroads Tournament
A few photos from last weekend's 3-day tournament.
First time using my new-to-me 70-200mm VRII - an amazing lens, much happier with it than the VRI I borrowed a few weeks ago (sorry Mark).

3. I rarely get decent shots of this girl - she doesn't play very often, usually only comes in to serve for another girl. So it was cool to get an interesting shot of her for a change.

Not action shots, but images I liked.
This photo has a little bit of Photoshop work done to it. The girl had two stitches under her left eye and a black eye, so I removed them from this and another close-up shot.
And last but not least, I played paparazzi for a few minutes and took a few photos of Sylvester Stallone, who was at the tournament watching one of his daughters play.

Yeah, that's something I'm still working on.
#5 and #6 were at 3200, but 1/500 was about all I could manage with the convention center lighting.

Nice shots! I tend to agree with John and think bumping up the SS would have been better to eliminate the blur. If you shoot in raw you can always adjust the exposure in PP.
Also, the WB appears to be off. Stallone's glasses are blue... Oh, wait... Never mind.

The funny thing is in person, the glasses appeared dark, you couldn't see his eyes (at least not from the distance I was at). It was only when I took the photo that they appeared blue.
I was always amazed at the crowd that was always around the court whenever he was there. He did have at least two security guards around, mainly for crowd control. I spoke to one of the security guys at length while the game was going on, he was a pretty nice guy, I think he was with a local security company hired just for this weekend.
At times I was standing feet away from his daughter that was playing and you could see her giving the occasional dirty look to people that were standing around taking photos of her dad. That would have to be pretty annoying after awhile.
