    great shot - color and detail are superb - the beak tip is ok would not fret over it- it is the eyes that draw you in

    Jack, I agree with Marcy, and in fact did not notice the beak tip until I read your note. Beautiful colors, great detail, and nice composition. I love it! Best, Pam

    Thanks Stephen. When I began processing this image, I knew there was something unusual (to me) about the colors compared to other shots of brown pelicans I have taken. Now I know why.

    Whoa... for something so pretty flying, those suckers sure are ugly close up. Err... nice capture. Great detail shows every ugly wrinkle.. I mean every colorful feather :D

    Superb work on this one , Jack. I saw a string of these drifting low over the dunes yesterday that was simply breath-taking in appearance....must have been at least 45 - 50 of them in that string, the most I can remember seeing at one time.
