Mostly Desert
I'm not sure this was a journey, it seemed like the usual drive, but if I put it here instead of in Landscapes I can include all the oddball shots without feeling guilty.
1. Pointed the car west, saw a lot of blue at the Salt Flats.
2. Met some friends at Pyramid Lake and watched the fishermen. This trip turned out to be all about playing with harsh light.
3. Spent the first night there.
3a. And the next morning. Bonus points for figuring it out instead of just asking "Huh?"
4. Then a day on the Owens River.
5. Then sunrise in Death Valley at the dunes in Saline Valley. I missed the focus on this one and it hurts. Except that somewhere there has to be a long gone Soviet film that looked just like this. Whatever that film was, that's the style of processing I was going for here. Yeah, that's it.
6. Midday at the dunes.
7. And sunset.
8. The light finally got soft on the drive home, due mostly to the three day snowstorm that was just starting.
