FMX Practice May 4th

Headed out to a local practice area in Nara to shoot Kota, Rob, and another Japanese rider. Many events have been canceled due to the earthquake/tsunami and that, so I was really glad to get out and have some fun with the guys. C&C always welcome =)

    Crazy stuff they do.

    1 and 7 - No action but nice environmental shots to add to the story.

    2 - Cool shot - just needs a little more light.

    3 and 5 - These are my favorites from this set - I really like the sequences showing the step by step movemnets.

    4 and 6 - These are just too far away to really be interesting. Tricks are neat but it is hard to see their detail.

    Enjoyed the set. Thanks for posting.

    Hey Andy, thanks for the comment. Glad to see you liked the set and the sequence shots, always fun to make those. 4 and 6 are to show the environment along with the trick, so you can get a sense of where the rider is =)

    Love #3 and 5! Dumb question, but how do you do that? Do you use a tridod, shoot consecutive, then combine them all in the computer? thanks

    Hey, glad you like the sequences. And ya, you are pretty much bang on there. I don't use a tripod because I move around a lot and am lazy, but I guess it would help to use one. These shots I shoot at 5 frames/sec, and then put it all together in photoshop, making sure there are no visible lines or weird ghosts. Takes time but worth it in the end for sure!
