Can I get cs5 64 bit to run in 32 bit?

Then will it read my plugins?

Yes. Exit CS5. Find CS5 in your computer and click on get info. There is a box to check "open in 32 bit mode".

In your start menu you should see two shortcuts under Adobe....the 64 bit version will have (64 bit) the other CS5 shortcut is to the 32 bit version.

You need to right click on it. Then a drop down menu will appear. Select get info, You will be able to see the box.

There is not a 32 bit there. Only a 64 bit.

When I right click on it there is no "get info" option.

Sorry...........but there should be an Apple store near you. :D

Although if you can have two icons to start CS5 one in 64 bit and one in 32 bit, that would be easier than Going through closing right clicking, checking box, closing get info window, and then opening CS5. I will need to look into this.

perhaps the 32bit version is not installed
me too , i only have the 64bit version installed

check in C: program files(x86) , adobe , adobe photoshop to see if its there
if not , its not installed
if yes , right - click the .exe and pin it to the start-menu

    HI Gang,

I'm not trying to hijack this thread but I think my question is close enough to ask it here. If not, I apologize in advance. :whip

I have the 32 mode attached to my desktop, etc and that works fine. But when I am in Bridge and PS is not open already, and I double click a thumbnail, PS automatically opens in 64 bit mode. Is there a way to change this so PS will open in 32 bit mode by default?

    in bridge go to
    edit
    preferences
    file type associations
there , choose and change whatever you want [ hit browse and surf to the 32bit exe ]
    [ C: program files(x86) , adobe , adobe photoshop ]

    in windows
    Control Panel
    programs
    Default Programs
    associate a file type
[ further same as above ]

Thanks Bas ... I never thought to change the file associations in Bridge ... another case of overlooking the obvious 11doh.gif . Works like a charm now.

    Thanks again.
