Just wondering what is going on sine the link to http://status.blogs.smugmug.com/ is not working.
Elwood: It's 106 miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.
Jake: Hit it.

The link is wrong. It should be http://status.smugmug.com.

But I am wondering why we're down? headscratch.gif

Yup, they have the wrong link in their site down default page page with the goddamn farmer guy on it... and current status says all is well.

Even worse when it's a client that calls you to tell you, especially when it's the same client that couldn't get in the last time.

Come on guys - I love smug and go out of my way to recommend it but it's getting silly now!!!

This is exactly what happened with me. I took a bunch of shots for an oil company in North Dakota a couple of weeks ago, put them up etc... so that they all can access them, and my contact there just called to tell me that it's down.

No biggie for me but it will be nice to get going again.

It would be nice if smugmug can review how much it was down at the end of the year, and extend the subscription (we are not talking about a refund).
To me, it is not a big deal because I use smugmug as a depository of all my pictures, so it is like a remote backup with ability to access/share pictures videos. So it doesn't affect me much, but I know there are people who make money and run their business on SM.

Believe me, I've been with SM for many years now, and these outages seem to all come at the worst times. Remember that SM is losing more money than we are when they go down, so there is always a sincere effort to get everything back online.

Our ops guys are working on it. And we do know about the faulty link to the status blog. It should be pointing to the link that was sent along earlier.

    http://status.smugmug.com/

Hopefully we can get it all sorted soon.

We should get an extra month each time smugmug goes down. That would mean we wouldn't have to pay for an account again. As it is, smugmug gets our money regardless of the site being usable or not, so they really don't care about downtime.

Not quite. It just went into read only in the middle of an upload. This crap isn't funny anymore. I just paid for another year, and I am really sorry I did so.

Read Only is not the same as working.

I've just signed up for a trial Zenfolio account.

Looks like it was a bit pre-mature. We are still trying to catch up from the earlier outage. So we are back in read only mode right now.

I have been looking at Zenfolio also. Much faster page loads than smugmug and doesn't seem to have the constant downtime we have here.

If that really was their attitude then they wouldn't stay in business long, my good man. I do hope they sort the problems out though, as to be down three times in one night is very painful.
