What makes a picture memorable?

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

    Yeah, I saw that. But what they were really measuring was, what makes you able to recall an in image in a very short term memory experiment. It certainly didn't measure whether an image blows your socks off or haunts you for days. There's lots of evidence now that our brains dedicate lots of resources to facial recognition and there are solid evolutionary reasons for that. But what does that have to do with the art of photography? IMO, very little.

    However my friends and associates always like my snapshots of people better than my wildlife photos. :bash
