Took some shots of my friends daughter at her last kids rodeo. I have about 900 to go through but i liked these right away. What do you think? Thanks!

#3 is excellent, good story telling and composition I think. My primary issue with the other three is the sort-of odd angle and crop. Just seems like if they were a bit tighter the shot would be much more interesting.

Thank you S&S I was leaning toward #3 out of these myself. It is killing me not having the option to crop!!
This challenge is a harder than it seems for sure!!

A few more that look like possibles to me :)
I am mad at myself because I didn't remember to switch the settings to record JPG untill half way through the day.
I have some good shots I can't use for the contest :(
All the kids were so damn cute dressed up like cowboys :)
The kid with the green mo-hawk was awesome!!

I love a photo with a great story. These are wonderful. Looks like a really fun place to shoot and you've done a great job. Love the kids expression in #2. My favorite is #5 though. Nice light, great use of DOF and not anything else going on to distract from the main subject. Even got a little motion blur going on with the rope to show the action.

These are all so much fun to look at, I had no idea that kids this young were doing this. I think #5 is my favorite as well, for the same reasons dlscott56 gave...my second chice would be #3...Fun stuffthumb.gif

Thanks guys! It really was so much fun shooting this. Everywhere I looked there seemed to be a great shot.
Looks like I'm down to 3 to decide on. #3, #5 and what do you think of this last one I pulled out? I will make a choice from those 3.

    Thanks for all the help!!

I think #5, but #6 appeals to me for its clean lines and sense of something about to happen. However, if I hadn't seen the other pictures for context, maybe not so much.

They are all beautiful, amazing shots! I do like #4 and #5 the best though.

I think #4 is the best of these. Tells a story. Fun expression on both the kid and the kid (or ewe, or lamb, or, wooly thing).

I like #4 and #5. While 5 had simplicity going for it, I think I prefer #4 for the reasons Greg mentioned and because the textures really jump out at me in this one.

hahahah #10 is hilarious! I wish the boots & top of sheep's head were in the frame, but that's priceless. #4 is also a winner in my book.

I like the one you entered for the SOOC theme; but I also think #3 would work. I find all the photos to be clear and nicely shot. Very enjoyable set and #10 really made me laugh. GP

Thank you so much for all the comments! I have to say this was one of my favorite shoots i have done to date. Every where I looked there was a great clasic shot. My friend and his family were very happy with the final pics. In the end thats all that matters. God i love photography.

I like #5 best for its DOF. Its pretty brilliant. #3 is my second favorite due to the fact it invoked more emotion in me. I took instantly to studying it and smiling. No 10 is a very close third. But honestly I just wanted to post and say GREAT WORK!!
