Too obscure? Too obvious? Too centered? What are your thoughts?

    I like the pose, but I don't see pride here? How is this pride? To me it seems more like a native looking around warily for the predator to get her.

    peacock thing combined with ballet diva (the model is a dancer). Too much of a stretch I guess.

    I like it. Would setting a white point improve it? I imagine the histogram has nothing above mid tones?

    Hope you don't mind. Does this work better? I set the white point with room to spare. Reason behind the crop: thought it helped the gesture imply she was reaching for something out of frame. As it was it seemed to to me there was too much negative space surrounding her.

    I like the crop a lot better. Looking at the original now, I think you are correct, it is far too centered. I prefer the darker look of the OG, though. Thanks for the work!
