I have changed the watermark in a couple of my galleries, and checked the box to apply to existing photos, and the new watermark does not get applied.
I checked the box to remove the watermark, and nothing happened,then I rechecked it, selected the new watermark and nothing happened.
I then selected the multiple galleries tab, and then selected the watermark option, selected the watermark I wanted. This fixed one of my galleries,but not the other.
Very frustrated.

The recommended and fastest way to update or remove watermarks is via the Tools button > many photos > more > watermarking tool. After doing so, give it time to process the changes. If there's lots going on on SmugMug, it may take a while longer.
The other option in the gallery settings should work too, but it'll take longer than the watermarking tool.

That finally worked. I do not understand why the gallery settings would not work.
