Had both my D300 and 200mm f2 Lens in for repair and calibration. D300 came back 2 couple of weeks ago picked up the lens Monday. Had to get out and shoot something to try it out. Nikon repair in Ca does a wonderful job. D300 is like brand new and the 200mm f2 is better than ever. Here are a few shots from the local wetland. D300 200mm f2 w 2x TC making a 400mm f4

The 200mm f2 is one of those lenses I wish I find a justification to get. Putting my envy aside those are a good set.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

I had a chance to buy this one used and it was a purchase I have not regretted. 500mm f4 or 600 mm were out of my budget. This was my best option at the time to get a great VR lens with the TC-20e III pushes it out to 400mm f4 with outstanding performance.
Nikon replaced the front element, tripod ring, VR unit, calibrated for 440.00 I am happy with the results. Lens did go down with camera to the pavement once causing the front element chip and tweeked te tripod ring making it hard to rotate lens.
Can hardly wait for the fall migration to get started.
