Horned Puffin

I've wanted to make it to a puffin rookery for quite some time. Finally did so last week. It was a brief visit but managed to come away with a shot or two. Still sorting/processing but thought this one was worth posting.

Awesome shot!
How on earth did it manage to catch so many fish at once? I would've thought that catching just one of the slippery little things at a time would be challenge enough for any bird.
Can't wait to see more puffin pics.

I don't know how they catch multiple fish like that. But it makes for interesting photos. Any of you bird buffs out there know how they do that?

What a stunning photo! Congrats! (I was wondering about the fish too, and found this on an Audubon site: "Puffins can carry several fish back to their nest at a time.* The average catch is around 10 fish per trip but the record in Maine is a whopping 62 fish at once!* The puffin’s beak is specialized to hold all these fish.* The puffin’s raspy tongue holds fish against spines on the palate, while it opens its beak to catch more fish.")
