At the end of August we had Orlov trotter festival at Babyakovo near our Voronezh city.

The 235 anniversary of Orlov trotter is celebrated.
Orlov trotters are very popular in Russia and several other countries, especially Scandinavian, for harness racing. Orlovs make ideal troika horses. The tall and massive Orlovs are liked by Russian mounted police. Of course, many Orlovs and especially Orlov crosses are used by farmers as a light carriage horse.

Riders from Russia, Italy, Malta, Serbia, Slovenia, Ukraine and France took part in competitions.

Of course, as usual I was interested in people more then horses

A lot of people came to hippodrome. Some interesting characters...

The weather was fine and as always there were deep blue sky, just seems to be asking about taking a picture...

There were singers performances, some dances.. This one is a singer

From time to time they needed water from start to finish
