My First Hummingbird!

I am sooo excited! This is my first humming bird shot! :barbWe finally have some coming around the house so I sat there with camera waiting for one to come to the feeder. I know...I know...the wings are in motion and it looks like he is stuck in the air, their is a bit of halo and other things but just to be able to see his belly:D. There is a feeder just to the right - i cropped it out as it was a distraction and not a pretty flower. The background is the sky; I didn't touch the background; one white at that angle and the other a bit blue at a different angle. Now I am anxious to get the tripod and practice! These guys are sooo cute and hard to get! I hope I can get one similar to those I see here! cc appreciated!

A most excellent "Personal Best" and one you should justly be proud of ylsuper.gif

PP will get better with exp.

Wing motion is actually preferred and your B&K is uncluttered.

Well done, it's fun to hunt the backyard, do it all the time mwink.gif

Good job for your first hummingbird images. I agree that the preferred is when the wings show some motion in the shots. Nice clean backgrounds and good job. I went out this morning and shot some of these birds and will post them later on.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
