Not quite the same for me. … Using Mac OS X Lion

I get the same thing. Running Lion and Safari. I have my settings correct in the browser and still all i get is the picture below. Clicking the Facebook link - does nothing.

I have been using the publish to Facebook feature for a while now, when pages was added, it broke, but a little while later, that was fixed. …

Now, for me, it is broken again.

I have been logged in, using Facebook for a while, and things were ok. … But, today I had to log in for a discussion stream, and it asked for my username and password, so I used them. … Now when I go to publish to Facebook, I get this same image, WITHOUT the blue login button.

I am having issues publishing to my page this evening. Only 126 of 200 are published, and I had another 111 that were cued up as well, that nothing happened. Do I republish or wait a little longer? It's been 22 minutes.

I attempted to republish, but nothing happens, not even creating an album is working right now.

mylogon, can you either post here or PM an example of where this is happening. Ideally the Facebook Photo, and the SmugMug one so I can see what's going on.

    Thanks,
    Scott.

I would love to, but I can now not ever get the Publish to Facebook show up again, even after trying three computers and five browsers. This much really be alpha - not even beta for the number of problem people have with something so simple, On top of this - you and FB broke the one app that someone else wrote that actually did work every time.

All I get under owner are: Show Off and Social Accounts

I even tried to link my Facebook account to my login (on the login screen) and that does nothing either.

Have you enabled it in DarkRoom? http://www.smugmug.com/darkroom/

It will look like this if it's enabled:

Are you on a custom domain, or a nickname.smugmug.com domain?

I am trying on a different computer, with all cache and cookies cleared, one that has never been on smugmug before, and at least the button is showing up and it runs through the steps. Let's see if it does upload. Will gie more info within the hour - one way or the other.ne_nau.gif

    (Sorry, crossed in posting.)

I seems to be working now, but I am running into the two hundred pics error that it will not continue, even if I go back to the gallery and manually select some of the remaining pics. Have to reread and see if someone found an answer...

    From email confirmation:

We published 0 out of 331 photos in 0.39 seconds (1 photo per every 0 seconds). That's a 0% completion rate.

There were 531 pics in the gallery.

Also on trying to reupload, I get the message that I can select 0 photos from the gallery I have.

I thought Facebook took the 200 pic maximum out a couple of weeks ago?

As far as I know, there is still a 200 picture limit. Obviously we need to work on the logic somewhere, since technically you aren't supposed to be able to select more photos than are available in the gallery.

You are not the owner of this Album Error
I am trying to publish the following gallery to Facebook.

    http://www.bluesphotosonline.com/Music/Carmen-Geitt-and-Steve-Luckey/19915751_fBc9Ss#1567447414_KgbjgQd

It tells me I am not the owner of the gallery. "You're not the owner of
this album" as soon as I enter the app.

I am using Safari on OSX 10.7.2.

I have cleaned out the cache, re-booted, re-joined the facebook app under
    /goodies, etc.

I also tried this on another computer (Windows 7, Internet Explorer). Same
    result..

I have used this several times before with no problem.

    Any thoughts?

    Similar functionality for Google+?
I have been really enjoying using this functionality with facebook. Any chance you are developing this for Google+ too? That is where I'd really like to see this go.

How do I publish just a photo and not entire album to FB?
With the old publish to FB tool and the new one, when I share a photo it makes my entire album available. I just want to be able to share individual pictures. I typically use unlisted albums and share them with relevant folks when they share a picture on facebook, it also makes the whole album available. Am I missing something? Thank you

You can still use the old method of publishing.

You can use 'Share->Be Social' or if you have Easy Sharign enabled in your gallery you can just click on the 'Share' or 'Like' buttons.

At the moment Google doesn't provide an API that we could use to do this. We are following up on Google+ development and are very eager to get integrated with them also.

Kudos on the new "Publish to FaceBook" Beta -- Wunderbar!!
I finally got a chance to try out this new feature, and I just wanna say it's absolutely terrific, at least the way it worked for me on my personal profile. thumb.gif I haven't yet tried it on my business page, so I'll let you know when I have. I use FF and Vista. Everything went as smooth as butter, and saved me oodles of time that I just wouldn't have had this week to do it the old way. I love that the photos can be nice and large now. I haven't yet tried a watermarked gallery. Is there still some trouble with watermarks on horizontal images not showing up?

I do like jtref's suggestions about having the UI boxes keep our last choices as a default. One question: Does this work with Smart Galleries and with Collected photos in a regular gallery? Sorry if this topic has already been covered... Well, thank you again, SmugMug! This has solved a lot of issues for me, especially the agony of captioning in 2 places. Now I just caption here, & voila! (& I like that they can be changed on FB if I want to) bowdown.gif P.S. I already got a bunch of traffic from FB to the gallery I posted. Good stuff.

We have fixed the issue regarding album creation at Facebook. We are investigating the publishing speed issues at the moment.

SUCCESS! I was able to create a new album and upload 11 photos in about 30 secs.

TRICKY: I had already opted in and when I went to look, it appeared I had done so.
However, the directions mention that custom domains must use the /darkroom/ feature.
OK, but that doesn't explain much to me. I added the /darkroom/ suffix to my URL and suddenly
I see that I have not opted in. Very confusing. Anyway, I clicked to opt in (a second time) and everything worked very well.

I really like that I can choose a page, create an album, and select which images from SM go there. I don't understand the option for adding some sort of text (Buy this photo) to each image. A better explanation would be helpful.

    Overall, a great job clap.gifclapclap.gif

Any love for this thread? I'd still like to know an answer to my question in post #80: "Does this work with Smart Galleries and with Collected photos in a regular gallery? Sorry if this topic has already been covered..." and Lighthawk (Andy) in the most recent post (#81) has good questions too. I don't want to bother setting up a certain smart gallery if Publish to FB doesn't work with it. Thanks for any answers!!

Sure it will work - so long as they are your collected photos and the source gallery is shareable to FB as well.

Hey Josh, as soon as google launches an API for google+ we'll start looking into see whether it's feasible or not...but yes, we are evaluating adding similar functionality for other services...

Hey WinsomeWorks, it should work for any gallery where you OWN the photos. Meaning if you collect someone else's photos, you won't be able to publish them...but it should work for all of your photos.

Andy (Lighthawk), Facebook doesn't allow us to add HTML to the captions of photos, but we do give you the option to add a link to the caption. The text option allows you to put some text before the link. So if I upload ten landscape photos, and choose to add a link to each one, the captions on Facebook for the photos would normally looks like this:
This is my caption for this beautifully awesome photo.

http://www.smugmug.com/some_photo_link (<- this is the link we/you can have auto-inserted for each photo.)

If you add were to enter 'Buy This Photo: ' as the text you want to appear before the link, the caption on Facebook would look like this:
This is my caption for this beautifully awesome photo.

Buy This Photo: http://www.smugmug.com/some_photo_link (<- this is the link AND TEXT we/you can have auto-inserted for each photo.)

So basically it just allows you to add some context to the link.

    3. We allow you to upload XL size, which matches the maximum image size of Facebook

As always. Please report any problems back here.

I just tested the XL size. It gives pictures with a 1024 large side. Facebook has large sides up to 2048px so it is not true that XL gives the maximum quality on FB.

I think Scott meant a direct link to whatever gallery you were seeing the issue on last. That would help a lot as you have many galleries on your homepage and without indication to what specific gallery you saw the issue on, it'll make it more difficult to track it down.

I tried it again in Firefox 8 today but again the same error: "You are not the owner of this Album". Switched to Google Chrome and tried the same album -> no problem, it worked. So it looks to me like it is browser-related (or add-on related).

    Great feature by the way!
