The Red Centre, Australia

It's funny. We don't often travel inside Australia. We like to go overseas each year. This year, we chose to see Uluru. Despite being Australian, it's a place I haven't been to for 40 years (it doesn't seem that long ago).

I must say, I really enjoyed the experience. The remoteness and the strange landscape added up to a break that was just as refreshing and new as an overseas trip. Here are some shots from our trip:

I have many more shots that I'm still working through. So, I might get to post them later.

That is funny, and something I experienced too. In the year my wife and I lived in Australia, we saw more of the country than the majority of my Australian coworkers!

I still talk about our trip to the Red Centre. The scenery and colors there are amazing - unlike anywhere else. Great photos thumb.gif

I'll admit I'm the same way here in AK. We only have like seven state highways, and I have not traveled them all. Never been close to Denali either. Thanks for sharing the pics, the aerial views are pretty cool!

Some interesting and untypical images - thanks, and well done!

Are the aerial shots from an early morning balloon trip(s)?

I wish they were from a balloon, but no. Some were from a chopper and some were from a light plane. We took a balloon flight in Alice Springs, but it flew over flat, burnt-out bush. Quite disappointing. The great thing about the flights over the Rock and Kata Tjuta was the ability to ask for a specific time. Not many people seemed to go for the dawn flight.
