Hope people don't mind just a link, but with permission from Makana, I put together a slide show of my "Occupy" images.

Or directly.

A shorter version with fewer images, as a PDF:

Enjoy and feel free to critique.

    Nice piece of work, Richard.

And correctly ends with what many here feel is your best image of "Occupy".

Yep.... Nice compilation of your images, good music score and that last shot seals the deal. thumb.gif

Thanks folks! I have been way too busy with work that more or less (sometimes less) pays the bills. I am ITCHING to go out and shoot again. Suburbia utopia sucks for the type of street photography I want to do, but may be I will start a series of Facebook (pre-)millionaires eating lunch, and then after their IPO, Facebook millionaires eating lunch (hmm... doesn't sound like a joke when I write it down... hmm...)

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Magnificent presentation Richard. If your images weren't already powerful enough individually, they are mind-blowing in this compilation!

Very nice, Richard. A lot of hard work went into that and the result was worth the trouble.

So here's a question relating to the body of work....

Some of the shots posted individually didn't garner much attention, or they had some nits to them in previous posts. Then, when assembled as body of work, the presentation was really good (my opinion). Is that because we have context, a frame of reference from which to work? We know the presentation is about the Occupy movement so each image supports the entire presentation instead of having to support the individual image? What makes the images stand out differently in a body of work such as this compared to individual shots? Is it the music?

When I see presentations like this, I just think "wow - that's a nice body of work".

Scott, if you notice, the PDF portfolio is much smaller, and if I were to make prints or simple slideshow to show people, I will not show more than the ones in the PDF portfolio.

Also, because the music is very strong, I can have more images to fill up the space. Mind you, they need to be good images also. I don't think there are "losers" there, and if someone says certain ones are losers, I'd certainly consider the critique and see if I agree (photographers are often too emotionally attached to make proper editing decision). And since they are in a video slideshow, people would generally overlook some nits and stuff.

But they don't have to be all killer or hero images. One metaphor I heard is that think of a set of images as a fence: you need strong fence post, but also fence pieces that help holding the pieces together, adding variety.

Most importantly, the first and last images must be the strongest. That's what people will remember.

While I am not positive about this occupy movement thing I must say you have done an exceptional job with this slide show.

The image selection and sequencing coupled with the music are compelling, and powerful.

Wonderful slide show. As has been said that's an impressive body of work.

Please consider embedding it in the thread. Just paste the embed code from YouTube.

    Thank you Sam and David.

David, please feel free to share far and wide :-) I tried to embed the Youtube code, which is an iframe statement and then wrap it around with the

tag, but it does not work?

No need to wrap in a tag. Just plop it in, which I've done for you. Although you probably want to clean up what I did. :D
