Must have been one hell of a show! Think I like the first one more, it feels more abstract, more deprived of depth, giving a feeling of texture over context. The bright cloud in the bottom right balances the large bright area in the top left. Great capture.
Some nice shots CF. Love the atmosphere created by the different levels of clouds. I would be tempted to desaturate the blues in both images as they are the area of the most contrast and therefore the area the eye travels to first. The blue in image 2 in the upper right is fine but the other areas just don't fit the image. just my humble opinion..
Sometimes, it is better to be kind than to be right. We do not need an intelligent mind that speaks, but a patient heart that listens. Unknown

Wonderful capture! I like the layers of the mountains in the foreground in #1 but love the detailed creeping clouds in #2. Dunno.... I think the blue in the sky might be a bit off in color if it isn't my monitor. Still these are great. You must have been on a high peak to see this view!

Thanks, Eia. I was on I-17 on Monday morning, driving back from an early morning hike, when I saw the light and cloud show developing over to the west. I pulled into the Sunset Point rest area. These photos, and a few dozen others, were taken there. I had to walk at least thirty feet from my vehicle.

Ah yes... Sunset Point; a popular but way overlooked area! Still... you were there at a right time!
