Auntie's privileges...

What is an Auntie to do? I don't do or share many baby sessions since I focus on weddings as a specialty... but I just had to share some recent photos I took of my little niece, Roselyn.
She is getting so big! She just turned 9 months, and for a while there, we thought she might skip crawling altogether!

So adorable, Heather. I just LOVE #2, complete with that sweet pup of yours (another one will be playing Bo Peep soon, I think!)

I could look at your pictures all day and never get tired of it - you inspire me every time you share, so please keep doing so! thumb.gif

These have the wow factor for sure. Great work...start doing baby pictures immediately...lol. You'll have to hire a staff. I can honestly say, that I haven't seen better...and coming from me...well, I don't usually get too excited about pictures.

Mind sharing your shooting set up with us?

Awww, thanks guys! I just love that little peanut! And she has a new little sister or brother on its way, so I couldn't be happier!

Lighting setup was super simple... one speed light through an umbrella. She is pretty wiggly, so I didn't want to fight any more than that. I shot them all with the 70-200 2.8IS at about f5 1/200th except the last... and that one I decided to take a focus risk and go for super shallow and open it up wide and at 170mm. I was kind of surprised when we got a sharp one because I only got two frames out of her before she reminded us that crawling is a pretty new skill when she smacked her face on the hickory floor and ended the shoot.

Hate to say it, but her crying face is just as cute as the smiling one.. But maybe that is the doting Auntie in me.

Those brought a huge smile to my face, just absolutely cute, super job Heather! Her expression is awesome. I can almost hear her crying after the floor bonk.

These are all great, but the last one? What's more than great? You must be really happy you took a chance with that shallow DOF!
