The Discovery's first low pass at IAD went right over my head. I just kept shooting as it went away from me and got this shot. I haven't seen this angle in all of the pix I have seen of this event, and maybe there is a reason for that, but I think it is pretty cool result......

    Awesome shot of a grand lady. If I had known in advance about the overflights, I would have taken the day off work to go to DC with my camera for the event. Alas, I heard about only after the fact.

    The retirement of these wonderful ships of dreams brings tears to my eyes and shame to my heart.
    What I said when I saw the Grand Canyon for the first time: "The wide ain't wide enough and the zoom don't zoom enough!"

    Cool Result indeed. Wish I had know the over flights were going to happen.
