Very nice, Michael. The combination of the bird and the mechanical apparatus is striking. It's an unusual shot....to say the least....that I find appealing.

I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

Thanks for saying Tom :D It was the potential for appealing in those very aspects you mention that kept me pressing forward to this result. Really glad you like it. I need to come up with a frame for it and frames are not my best suit. As if I had one of those :cry Am hoping this one will get the job done for further assessment / comment display without doing a disservice. I think it looks ok but I am bias as hell mwink.gif

Very interesting abstract,I am guessing and old tractor I certainly like the bird, but have you considered taking a bit off the top just enough to cut off part of the wheel, and still have the bird, just a thought.

Juano... :D I thank you for your nice comment. Would you be disappointed if I was to say that I didn't have to wait for the bird headscratch.gif Not sure I am ready to discuss such things but I had to be honest with you cause it is important you know. Rule of thumb I use any more... "If it looks to good to be true it may very well be a composite". I recently tried to gather my thoughts on composites and shared them with another dgrinner. Those thoughts are a work in progress and I am quite torn concerning composites.

Thanks for saying :D and I am pleased you find it interesting. Thats the key part thats let know I am going in a good working direction. Good guess on the device. Its a fairly ancient road grader. Actually the first one I have ever seen like it. Really bare bones machine. I can image it as one of the first of its sort out there helping to prep America's very first roads across the landscape. Since it is close to my location I will go back and try for better if I can manage them. Was raining that day and I had a hell of time keeping the gear dry and lens obstruction free. Ultimately the rain won out.

I hadn't thought so far as to look at cropping the top of that "steering wheel" off a small bit for this piece. A couple of the original compositions had the top off in order to fit other details in. This one I felt offered the best chance of being visually balanced and left the clipping to the left right and bottom. But it is possible that having all the round wheels clipped would be another way of being uniform and visually pleasant without losing a thing in final value. Thanks for pointing to the potential and I am looking at just that now thumb.gif
