Earlier this month Muench Workshops headed out to Death Valley. I've already posted some of my favorites [thread=219020]here[/thread], [thread=219020]here[/thread] and [thread=218967]here[/thread]. The entire gallery is here.

But this thread is about the adventure and the people on the trip.

It all started with us meeting by the bar. Of course. (iPhone + olloclip fisheye lens)

and BOOM, there it is! You can see the edge of the shadow across the flats. I didn't get a shot of it, but you should have seen Marc scurrying along, following that shadow shooting all the lovely textures it brought out.

Back at the hotel Marc shooting test shots with the D800. (You can hear his impressions here and here.)

At the hotel. The clouds were of more interest to me than the people. :D Clouds like this are rare in DV.

Gas in DV. Not Cheap.

Nearby Zabriskie Point, finding "the shot"

After the workshop was over Marc, Dave, Bill and I headed out for a cold night of camping at The Racetrack. We ended up popping a strut on this van:

We were disappointed to find that the rangers had just cleaned out all the teakettles.

The open road.

Marc shooting The Grandstand.

Bill shooting The Racetrack. It was cold.

It rained on us overnight, but we weren't that far down from the snow level. We camped at an old mine shaft.

Driving out in the morning. Bill shooting The Green Man, a cyclist that Bill won on his morning ride (long-standing tradition). Bill got some awesome shots of Green Man. It was quite the Journey for the little guy!

We hiked up from the Golden Canyon parking lot one evening to shoot Manly Beacon at sunset. Here's Marc taking the hard way.

Driving home on my own I finally found a Point of Interest. Just to think, in all of Death Valley, with all there is to see, not ONE Point of Interest. Harumph.

btw, the one point of interest...? I'm daft, but is that sign indicating that the Moon is a point of interest?lol3.gif

Awesome! Not sure which I like better. That first shot with the beer, or the cheesecake shot of Marc posing on the ground. :giggle

Say, the took the Teakettles down off the Teakettle junction sign? eek7.gif

They clean them up periodically, as it's against the rules. I gather it's an ongoing battle between the park service and the peoples.
