Why's Andy wearing a winter parka in sunny florida??

I knew, of course, that trees and plants had roots, stems, bark, branches and foliage that reached up toward the light. But I was coming to realize that the real magician was light itself.

Here is one you can try this weekend to impress the wife. Goes nice with a white wine.

    SNOWY EGRET MARSALA RECIPE

    <TABLE cellSpacing=1 cellPadding=1 width="60%" align=left summary="2-Column table with measurement in the first and ingredients" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD vAlign=top noWrap align=left>1/8 tsp</TD><TD>black pepper</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top noWrap align=left>1/4 tsp</TD><TD>salt</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top noWrap align=left>1/4 C</TD><TD>flour

</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top noWrap align=left>4</TD><TD>snowy egret breasts, boned, skinless

    (5 ounces)

    </TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top noWrap align=left>1 Tbsp</TD><TD>olive oil</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top noWrap align=left>1/2 C</TD><TD>Marsala wine</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top noWrap align=left>1/2 C</TD><TD>egret stock, skim fat from top</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top noWrap align=left>1/2 lemon </TD><TD>fresh lemon juice</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top noWrap align=left>1/2 C</TD><TD>sliced mushrooms</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top noWrap align=left>1 Tbsp</TD><TD>fresh parsley, chopped

    </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

    1. Mix together pepper, salt, and flour. Coat egret breasts with seasoned flour.
    2. In a heavy-bottomed skillet, heat oil. Place egret breasts in skillet and brown on both sides. Then remove egret breasts from skillet and set aside.
    3. To the skillet, add wine and stir until the wine is heated. Add juice, stock, and mushrooms. Stir to toss, reduce heat, and cook for about 10 minutes until the sauce is partially reduced.
    4. Return browned egret breasts to skillet. Spoon sauce over the egret.
    5. Cover and cook for about 5-10 minutes or until egret is done.
    6. Serve sauce over egret. Garnish with chopped parsley.
Yield: 4 servings--Serving Size: 1 snowy egret breast with 1/3 cup sauce

Yepper....that was pretty good. thumb.gif Very creative in insightful there, Ben. I see many faces in flowers. Especially the cartoonish weird character types. Here are some recent shots of orchids that reminded me of alien/cartoonish faces.

    Hey Mike,

He's a native of the Viera Zoo anyhow. They had a small butterfly exhibit awhile ago. I was replying to pathfinder but you got in first. I considered deleting it but figured if you could stretch your shot into a response to PF's shot then I could go that extra mile too. :lol4
