Neutral Density Filter other uses

I know ND's are for making falls and swift water look like angel hair.
Besides night time "traffic motion" photography what else can they be used for?

Just curious cuz I have never used ND's much.
I'm always hunting for new ideas and learning experiances.:D

    Just be careful some filters add color

    Gee, I didn't realize that
    After viewing the link I didn't realize that I could use ND to force a "blurry" background, as in isolating an object against the background like the statue against the trees.

    Hmmm.... thanks for the food for thought. Now if I can just remember it!

    I knew about slowing the shutter to make a blur, just never twisted my mind and stretched to give it the other application!
