    Try going to diglloyd (http://diglloyd.com/) 2nd or 3rd post down he has a 28-70 mint for $600.

    That is a heck of a deal from someone who takes care of their gear.

    Since last July. I'm the second owner. I use it regularly, but it's babied like all my lenses...

    How does this perform on d7000? What about balance?

    Sorry for the delay. Wedding this past weekend.

    IQ is excellent on both crop and FF bodies. On the D7000, I almost always use the 70-200, cause of the extra reach, so I'm not concerned about balance. It's a fairly heavy lens, so it's definitely front heavy. However, that's irrelevant in the field unless you try to attach it to a tripod naked. That would be some serious torque on the mounting screw...
