Another Mini in the books.

Lots of fine shots.

I Downloaded all the shots to my computer, placed them in a folder, and ran through them, really, without knowing who did what. (except for those with watermarks)

I ran through them a few times, eliminating a few here and a few there.

I got it down from about 65 to 15.

These are the 15.

So the 12 that aren't listed, you are the HM's. Congrats.

On to the top three.

3rd Place - bfluegie

I have to admit, I can't tell if this shot is from yesterday, or many years ago.
Honestly, I don't care. The fact that this somewhat plain photo, can take me to a different era, says it all for me.

2nd Place - LouDoggsRuca

I went back and forth between this shot and the winning shot.
The processing that you did worked very well.

1st Place - Sam

Fantastic shot. The use of blur and DOF is wonderful.
It looks as if you started out with a good shot, and through processing made it great.

I'll leave the collage on my site for a month or two, then it be deleted.
Your shots that I downloaded will be deleted tonight.

Sam, it's all yours.

Thanks again to everyone involved for being part of the Mini.
dave.

I have gone over all the shots and I absolutely can NOT figure out what the one on the top row second from the left is.

I also have a question - I thought we were limited to three photos but I see some people had more and some of those 'extra' shots ended up in the HM's.

That shot is from the 27th post in the challenge thread, 3rd shot.

The rules state 3 shots, and I believe that if there where more 3 shots in a given post,
I only judged the first 3. Of course during the downloading process, I may have mistakenly grabbed #4.

I hope that clears things up.

I was thrilled when I opened this thread and saw one of my photos in the collage. I was extremely surprised to make third place among so many strong entries. Thank you very much Dave for a stimulating mini challenge. I really enjoyed seeing everyone's take on the car theme. Well deserved congrats to Lou and Sam.

I think with these type of contests / challenges if your image gets into the top 5 or 3 that's pretty close to the same in my book.

Seriously everyone has a different take which image they would chose as say #1, but most can agree when an image is strong enough to get to the top somewhere.

When I vote for an image my pick will come in towards the top but seldom will others agree it should win. :D

We all see the world differently.

well run sam - thanks! i appreiate the shorter time limit - like 1 week or so. i mean how much time do we really need? one weekend should be enough to dredge up some pics or take a few more - also, another nice thing aout these mini-challenges is the judgement process - no drama about voter fraud :)

    Sam

    Piece of cake.

Start a new thread: Mini Challenge #149 " your challenge "

Give a reason or thought on why you picked that subject.

Add any special rules you want.

Give an end time and date.

Copy the rules from any of the first posts.

    And that's about iit.

Then use the first reply to give a few examples

Also in the stickies, you can find a list of past mini's so you don't repeat one, well maybe just not to resent of a repeat.
