Colorado Rockies (very smoky)

The smoke across Colorado was very bad this summer. It was so bad that only the closest mountains shown any detail, any mountains further away were pretty much just shapes.

The smoke did make for some unusual sunset shots though...

    These are beautiful Randy. My favorites are 2 and 3, I'm having a hard time choosing between the two.

    I was certainly surprised at how blue the smoke made the mountains, at and after sunset.

    The smoke really did a good job of showing off the mountains and valleys, giving a separation that is usually hard to capture.

    Great set of images. I just returned from Montana and the few days I was there the smoke was so heavy you couldn't even see the mountains.

    I've photographed these mountains many times over the years, and the smoke allowed a uniqueness that I had not seen before.
