Which is what I do or have done for a very long time.
My question will a Pelican case do a pretty good job protecting my equiptment????

    Pelican cases are good at protecting all sorts of things. They're waterproof, shock proof and easy to configure. Depending on what's in the case, they can also be buoyant.

    If you load the case at a different altitude than you'll be opening it, you can easily equalize the pressure.

    Configuration is managed with pick-and-pull foam and that allows you to shape the foam to what you're putting in it.

    The Military uses Pelican and Storm cases for protecting a whole of their
    costly toys... Most people I know do not use the pic / pluck foam but
    rather the divider inserts and they like them a lot better as they actually
    configure to get more items safely secured in the case...

    I love my Pelican cases.

    I use the divider inserts as well. Helps when you need to reconfigure to add or subtract toys for different shooting assignments or when you realize there might be a better way of situating all your needed goodies in there.
