It broke my heart when this lens hit the floor. 
It does NOT auto focus anymore & has a dent on the front so you wouldn't be able to screw on a filter. It does actually take sharp photos with manual focus. I hate to throw it out since it's such a great piece of glass, so if you have a need for a 1.4 50mm, don't use filters and can get away with manual focus this is a great way to say over $300.
