Lightroom to Photoshop or Nik

Many times when I'm in Lightroom and go into Photoshop or Nik Filters and back into LR the changed image does not always return. Now if I close LR and then reopen the changed image will appear as it is designed to do .. I have no clue as to why

    Make sure you only SAVE the file in Photoshop. Do not SAVE AS or rename the image. Also, if you were viewing in single image mode in LR, when you return, often it will still show that original image. Go back to Grid mode and you will see the Photoshop image next to your original. LR/Photoshop creates a copy, it doesn't impact the original RAW.
