Layla Gets Trashy

Second studio session this winter, this time with white seamless that I learned is not easy to get right.

Anyway, for years I have told models "I'll shoot you in a trash bag as long as I get your face".
Well, super playful Layla called me on it. We took a garbage bag, some tape and scissors and she made it incredibly sexy.

No like these Bilsen. I think its the backdrop. I want to clean it with some bleach.

    Thanks Demian.

Cuban, no real argument from me. That white seamless is a b**ch to light with just speedlights.
Fear not, my next three shoots are all gray seamless and I'll color it with gels.

John, on lighting the bkg I find if I can get her about 6 to 8 ft away from the bkg then put the lights one on each side just behind her so that the light doesn't hit her also put the reflector bowl on the lights then get an even exposure equal to the main or a stop more. If the light legs get in the photo clone them out. This seems to work from me.

Hi Hack, I expected that question. Laughing.gif

I'm 5'8" and I was bending over a lot of the time so the POV surprised me too except where it was intentionally downward.

I don't have that kind of room to move off the BKG but I'm gonna try to angle the light better. Also use flags. Also use gray seamless since that's easier for me.

    Thanks.

There's always the digital alternative -- a magic wand and a masked levels (or curves) adjustment layer.

Are you suggesting one should digitally alter their photographs? GASP! eek7.gif

Don't you know real photographers do everything in-camera and all their product is SOOC? rolleyes1.gif

Laughing.gif, Thanks guys. I may go back and try to cheat my way through the background problems in post but SHHHHHH don't tell Cuban.rolleyes1.gif

Zoomer, nice to see you again. I've missed you. You picked up on Layla really well. She is personality plus. To me # 8 is the one that shows the real Layla dead on.
