If you're a Windows user, you might be interested to know that Lenovo has started selling their ThinkPad X1 Carbon Touch Ultrabook online today. This is, in my opinion, one of the best laptop options out there. With a nice 14" display now enabled with multi-touch, you can get an i7 and 8GB RAM powered machine for $1,649. The i5/4GB version is slightly cheaper.

I'm trying to figure out how Santa can bring me one. Lenovo will even put Lightroom 4 on it for you.

There are not a lot of other Windows laptops that are very interesting to me right now compared to this one. It is a bit more expensive than others, but once you hold an X1 Carbon in your hands you can see why - they're built for serious use.

    TN panel is it not?

I prefer the ASUS UX32VD with 13.3" 1902x1080 IPS panel and close to 100% coverage of the sRGB color space, Nvidia GT620M GPU, i7 3517U, 6G RAM, 24G SSD + 500G HD for $1250.
