Neutral Density Filters

Hi, I have noticed a number of posts on Dgrin recently where Neutral Density filters have been used. My question is - which system is best - the Cokin system or Hoya individual screw on?

Looking forward to receiving some guidance.

    I've got two Singh-Ray Vari-ND filters that I love. They are adjustable 2-8 stops. I have had zero problems with them and they let me do a lot of things that I couldn't do without them. They are expensive, but I think you get what you pay for in this instance.

    I'll add my vote for Cokin. For the cost of some others, you can get a kit that allows stacking for a pretty broad range of stops. You can also get a graduated set that fits in the same holder, and is far superior to screw-on filters, as it allows easy alignment with the horizon, etc.

    Considering I rarely use them, they are perfect for me.

    Now if the Big Stopper would ever come back into stock anywhere... Ugh. a 10 stop ND filter is definitely hard to get ones hands on!

    Thanks everyone for your guidance wrt ND filters. As an introduction to their use I have opted for Cokin.
