Zhouzhuang is a small water township located inside Souzhou, Jiangsu and is known as the "Venice of China"

I've posted some of these photos individually in landscapes but never collectively in this forum. Hope you enjoy.

I went on a side trip in December of 2010 with my wife who is from Nanjing. It is one of the most peaceful places on earth in my opinion. Since it is a Chinese national heritage site, the waters are pristine. All the vegetables are grown locally and cleaned in the canals. The major form of transportation are gondolas. We stayed at a canal side bed and breakfast and explored the ancient town early in the morning while there was still fog and very few tourists.
