..phew, I never knew I had so much to do after getting over jet lag..

Here we go...a few from my trip to Australia for my chums on here..

If you can afford it, and you could only attend ONE race all year, then save like mad and go to PI for bikes (or cars - but I'm a bike person primarily).

I'll be back out there most likely in March for F1 and then WSB at PI (staying over). The track is amazing, and there isn't any catch fencing around the entire track, so if you've got good glass, a 300 and a 1.4 you can get some pretty good shots without worrying about fencing! Plus, the fans and people are really great.

I have been waiting for these. They are all excellent but the first shot of Checa with his back wheel on the white line is absolutely spectacular.

It was sad to see Casey Stoner go down in the 125s...I was really cheerin for him, oh well

That shot of Hayden with his helmet on it really nice looking too (for a non racing shot)

No, I actually used a 400f2.8 with a 1.4 courtesy of CPS at the track.

I took my 300f2.8 but didn't take my 500f4 becuase (like a turd) I figured I'd get intercepted at check in and have to check all of it due to weight (your only allowed two carry ons, max weight per piece 15lb) so I was pushing it with my digital lightware backpack at 35lb with all my bodies and lenses/charger and such like.

So it was kinda cool (and a great suprise) that CPS were offering loaners for the weekend (at no cost of course) so I simply checked out a 400 and it worked fine.

The weekend was a blast. The ulitmate blast for me was having Rossi stand on my toes, shake my hand and apologise, and Nicky Hayden recognising me and saying hi too. There was only me and one other prophotog crammed into the fence in the winners circle (I had got there early) as other photogs went for the long podium shot and the shot down from the media centre windows...I'm glad I went to where I was, the fact that I was so close to Rossi (2nd time this year) and couldn't take a shot becuase he was so close, really didn't matter, as it was a little something for me as it were, something to treasure in my mind. Because whether you're a fan of him or not, he has an aura and charm about him and for me, it allowed me to think of all the things my wife and I have sacrificed this year to get this work and job off the ground, and losing Jack whilst I was away. It was nice to have something photo'd for my mind.

However, someone send me this screen cap from some video of the end of the race, and frankly, for me, this means more to me than anything I took that weekend, why? I have no idea, but having my wife with me, the crowd, the magic of the event and location just condensed for me.

When this was happening, I felt like I was 12 years old and with my Dad.

It's why I love what I do. I can be a little boy.....

I love motorcycle racing.

Totally understand what you are saying about sacrifice. It really does come down to the little things really meaning a lot. You're a great inspiration to me and thank you for the information you have given throughout this season, I have come A LONG way this season, who knows, we may work together at the track next season

Updated!!! Phew. It's been a busy past few weeks for me and so this update took longer than I would've wished for.

I added about 100 images to my site. Let me know if anyone has issues viewing as I think the java on the flash file might need updating....

Andrew...love the shots! And agreed - great one of Carlos "Chucker" on the line. I'm so jealous that you get to do this, and especially to meet Rossi...how awesome that must have been.

I just found a poster of Hayden on the RC 2 days ago while going through some stuff, and I kick myself for not getting his autograph while he was still in AMA Superbike. It's also too bad that every time I went to the race I never had a good enough camera to take good shots.

I will live vicariously through your work!
