    Excellent set of photos Graham.

I do like how the players in number 1 are helping your man off the pitch

"...ill feelings surfacing..." Love the understatement!

Looks like a few of them could care less where the ball is, time to play the man.

The last few seem to have lost contrast and/or saturation. Intentional, or light changing on you during the match?

Hi Guys thanks for the input :).

Thanks Peter, there where more than a few dodgy tackles with a few illegal "spear tackles" thrown in!

Hi Photobiker, your correct the light altered as the sun dropped behind the stands in that corner could have boosted saturation'contrast to compensate but these are on forum as sent to National papers, (minus the watermark of course!), a bit lazy I know!.

Thank you Josh, Yes it is without doubt a "Man's" sport, ironically, played over here in Blighty by Women as well thumb.gif. Kind regards Graham.

I agree with Photogbiker on the contrast/saturation issues, but other than that, good stuff.

Graham, we have a few large pockets of rugby here in the States. New Orleans is one of them. Of course over here it's "clubs" versus professional leagues. Our mens team took D1 National Championship two years ago. We also have a womens team, many college men/women teams, as well as a fast growing high school league. Youth rugby is just starting in our area and hope it will catch on quickly.
We just hosted the SOUTH regional high school tournament last weekend.
I shoot all levels of rugby I can, but really enjoy the high school level the most.
I fell in love with the sport about 5yrs ago when my son was playing. (He's now a ref.) Since then I can't get myself to watch lame old American football.

    Hi Ed,
Great to here the game is at least "treading water" over in the USclap.gif
I'd love to see some of your shots?, I'm guessing the game by you is Rugby Union?. This game is Rugby League which I'm sure you know has very different rules & ways of play!. it's more akin to American Footy TBH but without the padding and stoppages.

I have to disagree about the "Grid Iron" though!, I still love to watch/shoot it over here in Blighty & even cover the local University team when time allows, the athletisism is just as prevelant (even if I don't know what's going on half the time:D). In fact I'm booking in as a photographer for the 2 major league games coming over here to the UKthumb.gif. Kind regards Graham
