Finally some BIFs worth sharing with this illustrious group :)

Pelicans hanging around the Coralville Dam Spillway in Iowa

Rest of the gallery here : Pelican Gallery 05112013

Just clipped the bottom of the wing of the second one, but otherwise very happy with both of these, and some of the others in the gallery turned out ok too :)

Thanks

Shots have good detail and considering the angle and background are well exposed. BIFs are tough you cannot get birds cooperation all the time so you take what you can get. Just keep an eye out for the birds and keep on shooting you will get improvement and the lucky breaks to get a good shot.
Now while birds on water it is more interesting to get the lower angles. I find BIF get more interesting if you can get a more elevated position to shoot you get a better angle to get the eye contact than when shooting below them shooting below them.

Birds in flight aren't easy and they are two nicely detailed shots, but I agree with what's been said earlier about the angle they were taken and pov.
