Bought myself some strobes and was pretty amazed at what you can do and the difference in the quality of portraits certainly goes up sharply. I bought 3 x 300w strobes and all the accesories for around £200 and I thought at that price I could sacrifice build quality.

Does anyone have any good resources I could visit for some set ups etc?

Nice shot, I only shoot with flash units even on a clear day or studio. There are so many possible variations to work with all depending on the mood and looks of the model. Besides that one really needs to learn the light and how it wraps around the objects. Don't forget the lightshapers as they are critical for light effects. If you got 3 strobes for 200 pound , then you got a deal. I shoot with Broncolor.

Have a look at Scott Kelby training, ist about 90 Dollar a year and you have full access to all the student and video material.... But most of all learn the light by doing it yourself.
