<p><br />
<span class="myText2">Some great questions to ask a photographer before you book them are:</span>
</u></span></p>

<p>1. The Portfolio: First & foremost, the absolutely most important thing in looking for a photographer is that you like, or better yet, love their work. Dive deep into their portfolio & get a sense of their style & their overall approach to the art.
<p><br />
<p>2. Does your photographer offer references & are they readily available.
<p><br />
<p>3. Is your photographer insured? Most reputable banquet facilities will require your vendors to be insured and the simple fact is that too many photographers are simply not insured.
<p><br />
<p>4. Does your photographer offer true professional equipment. Sounds like a silly question but the fact of the matter is that just because it “looks like” a professional camera (digital SLR), does not mean it is truly professional grade. Your photographer should NOT be shooting with something bought at Best Buy or Target. They should be using true professional grade equipment.
<p><br />
<p>5. Does your photographer dress professionally? Can you only imagine if you do not ask this question & your photographer shows up in jeans & a t-shirt?

<p><br />

<p><br />I welcome the opportunity to answer any questions you may have & want you to be comfortable securing my services for your special day.

As I understand this, but very new with all the new stuff.
Don't use a text box but an html box and do not use tags, Smug knows an html box is html.

BTW, javascript will not work, they do not allow it on new site.

I highly recommend Not using HTML with the new design unless you absolutely have to. Just add a text box to a new page instead. It's so much easier now to both create and revise pages in this way. Then even in a normal text box you can drop in HTML if/when need to like for email link and it works! I replaced ALL my old custom HTML code and after a little formatting of the text layout it's great.

Take a look an my example page here: http://landandseaphoto.smugmug.com/Navigation/Prints/n-3BFHQ

You will also need to add a CSS box to format it.

I think you'll find that html does not work in a text box except for a very few things. links, colors, etc.
Not sure but this is what I think I've read.

this whole ordeal is ridiculous...i should not have to be doing this at all.

what if i want to just use my old about page as it was...cant i just have my new navbar point to that or will that page disappear at some point?

I think its worth trying without HTML first for ease of use and maintainability. For example most About pages have photos and text with maybe a link or two. All those things can now easily be done in an automated fashion with SM's built in page designer features.

For email links I was able to add this inside a standard text box without any problem:

    <a href="mailto:youremailaddress">Email Me</a>

Why? just try it. This doesn't take very long. You can literally copy and paste the text into a standard text box within minutes and have it operational.

You can add a photo block. Then add a text block to the right or left of it of it by dragging and dropping it there. I don't know if it will be identical to the way you've done it here, but pretty close.

ok so getting there....now though when i add "portfolio" to my new navbar on the new sm, i set it up two ways and neither worked. i had it set up as a custom url to point here:
    http://reflectivephotoworks.smugmug.com/Portfolio

or i chose a specific gallery and i chose
    http://www.reflectivephotoworks.com/Portfolio/Portfolio/4250222_Jd3qFD#!i=2514784516&k=RRcjvSC
when i do the first option nothing happens

when i do the second option i get this in preview mode

Glad to hear you're making progress. Menu items links work a bit differently now.

You first need to decide upon the layout you want. So for example on your old site I see you have a page with a Portfolio Gallery and Video samples. What you can do is create a Portfolio Folder. Then drag and drop whatever contents you want in it.

Go to your home page > Organize > Organize Site

Once you have what you want in that folder you can link to it from the Menu via its URL or by selecting the folder from the Menu page selector.

** Tip: if the folder is UNLISTED you need to provide the URL instead of using the Menu page selector. Otherwise it won't be visible to others.
