Nice work, Gus. Not sure why exactly, but that third one made me laugh out loud. I mean, pelicans are pretty much always funny looking, but that one just grabbed me. Looks like it was a nice day...

I love pelicans...they can always be bribed for a photo.

Here is the shot i went there for...totally lost the light & after looking at it for 10 years from the road going across the bridge...it didnt turn out anywhere near what i expected so i just took one to see how it would turn out.

Man you have to choose you lane carefully on the bike..you should see the piles of pelican ^%$# under each light !

Somedays each light has a bird on it almost all the way across.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Nice shots Gus. I think the Tern is a Caspian Tern but I could be wrong (Looks a bit like some i've shot before). Must agree that pelicans are the masters of the silly walk :)

    A Tern for the Worse
Hi Gus and Luckydog, that there tern is a Little Tern (Sterna albifrons). Yellow bill and black legs, dead give-away. The Caspian has a massive red bill (birdbook's words, not mine).

Today's useless piece of information is that there are fifteen different Terns listed, but only two Oystercatchers. So yours is the Pied O/c Gus, because the other one is a Sooty O/c and is all black.

Wish me luck on tomorrow's quest for a blue wren.

Thanks everyone...i had better actually go to work today so no birds. Thanks PC for the name thumb.gif I did see that red beak & thought it may have been a breeding thing with the caspian but the 'pepper' colour had me.
