When Slideshows need AlbumKey in Legacy site / Bug Update

I need an update on a slideshow bug mentioned a week or more ago... I can't find the thread now. Al had told someone how to fix a broken slideshow somewhere on their Legacy site by adding the AlbumKey (or maybe it was the AlbumID). Soon after that, I got a kind and helpful message from someone here letting me know the small slideshow on my info page was broken just like that person's & now needed the Key or ID to fix it. I did that and it worked.

I really need to know the status of this problem. Does SmugMug plan to fix it, and either way, which kinds of slideshows are affected? I pray I don't need to go all over the web tracking down all my broken slideshows. I have an embarrassing situation at the moment with a broken slideshow that's embedded in a store website. I don't know how long it's been this way, but when the store owner went to the slideshow page, it asks for a password!

I'm traveling and couldn't fix it from that end or from my phone, and really need some info here. Are all my embedded slideshows on other sites and my own likely to be broken or to be at some point? What is it that they need exactly and how do I find it if SmugMug doesn't fix this pronto? Thank you for any help!

I don't really understand though...did something change recently? And if so, is this not going to be fixed by SmugMug? I mean, are we all expected to figure out all the places we have embedded shows? And is it just embedded shows? What about badges? Is there some way to identify all the places I may have an embedded show?

Most importantly, SmugMug- when were you planning to let us all know that a bunch of our slideshows were broken? We should ALL have notices that show up as soon as we visit our pages, informing us off this problem & how to fix it! How many thousands of these are screwed up?!!

That wiki page was updated a long time ago adding the AlbumKey. It's just that recent security updates
now requires the AlbumKey. I missed the update or didn't notice along with just about everyone.

I kinda remember seeing it but thinking it's all working now but can't hurt adding the AlbumKey.

Ok, thanks, Al.... Gosh, yeah I'm sure there are gazillions of broken shows now all over the web & people's SmugMugs. Yikes. Why wouldn't there be specific reminders / notices to, at the very least, pros. Isn't that part of what we pay the beaucoup bucks for?! To not have stuff break on us without having to scour every release?

It's very disappointing & frustrating. If I ask Help, would they be able to identify all the shows that will be a problem for me? I don't know how to start. One badge I saw was working. So is it just Flash Slideshows, not badges, that are problematic? If one is embedded on an outside page such as the store I mentioned, where do I go to add that AlbumKey? I have no memory of where / how I set that up. (in the store's case, my spouse runs their website & uses Dreamweaver to work on it. So I gather we should see embed code using DW where we can add the now-needed AlbumKey?) Ugh, I just love learning this stuff while trying to enjoy a trip.

There have been many on the forums complaining their show had stopped working and most if not
all were homepage Flash slideshows. Smug wouldn't have a clue where all the external embeds are.

I noticed they have a slideshow (Flash) in NewSite "Show Off" but no mosaic which I use on almost every
gallery blog post.
