Thumbnail not displaying for password protected galleries

On the majority of my password protected galleries, the thumbnails are not displaying any image. I have already checked that each gallery does have a "featured" image per the instructions here(http://help.smugmug.com/customer/portal/articles/1230234-new-can-i-pick-the-thumbnail-for-a-gallery-page-folder)

    Make sure External Embedding is checked under gallery settings.

    Well there goes another security level because of SM and their new code. They are so worried about their security... how about ours?

    Why was this one not mentioned? Or did I miss it since I don't spend my days reading blogs?
