Ann, thank you, Kelso has made my day. Today I will be doing a couple of dog portraits at an owner's home. If I can win them results like your's I'll be more relaxed about it tonight than I am this morning.

What makes a dog portrait differerent to a model portrait?
Answer: Dogs still look intelligent with their mouths part open.
    Sorry, couldn't resist.

    Thanks, Ian.
My favorite is the last one!

Kelso is the offspring of a
    St. Bernard/Akita x St. Bernard/Great Pyrenees/Black Lab

He is built like a Pyr, colored like a Bernard, tempered like the most mellow dog you could imagine. Wonderfully protective but never agressive.

    Awww
I love that dog! I am jealous though. My dogs see the camera and run. I can get one of them to sit there, but then he has that look like I just beat him or something!

Very good lookin dog you have there!

That is one fine lookin' canine Miss Ann iloveyou.gif He looks good from any angle thumb.gifthumb.gif Although I'm with you. The last one and the one above are my favs. He looks more relaxed, where in the other pics it almost looks like he's waiting on your command ne_nau.gif

Nice work and I hope Kelso is happy with his pics.....lol

His muzzle and stance remind me of a lab. He's a beauty for sure.

Thanks, steph. He was sitting fairly still, but it had nothing to do with being well trained or liking the camera. He was just sitting there! He'd just ran laps around the yard so was probably exhausted!

Thanks Steve! No, he's not really trained - he knows sit and stay, but is selective about doing so!!!!

    He is awfully purty tho!

    Hi Andreas
He is soft, and he is so warm that he prefers to be outside in the winter.

    Thanks for the comments!!

    Hi Ian
You are right - the way he is sitting in these pics is lab like. I hadn't noticed that! Had him at the vet today (he has an irritated eye) and he kissed each and every doctor and tech in the building! He got all kinds of love and attention slathered on him.

    He weighs 126lbs right now.

Here is a different shot of him that shows his body type better:
