design change publish

when I change the design of my new smugmug site it asked me if I want to publish it, does that mean it will use my photos and info or does that mean it will overide the legacy site and my customers will see the new design that I am not ready to show yet?

    your customers will NOT see the changes until you click unveil. You need to publish to see the changes you have made.
