I have set the featured photo on the viewer's choice folder found here...
http://www.brandolinoimaging.com/Image-Galleries/My-Portfolio
several times only to return to see no photo, What am I doing wrong?
I am picking from public non-passworded folders.

I just picked a random image from your Baseball album and it stuck. Are you sure you were trying to do this with the folder, and not on the page in the folder? They both have the same name, so that could be a possibility.

If you would... check back on this tomorrow and see if the image you picked is still there. I'll look also.

Ok thanks! Let me look into this. Please don't try to replace this until I have a chance to test. Thanks!

Moved over to the bug forum. I was able to recreate. I *think* it may have to do with the fact that the folder only contains one page. I created a gallery in the folder in my test to see if the feature photo sticks.

Anthony, I'm also getting the same happening for one of my galleries. The 'Feature Image' is selected and appears in the tiny window, yet when I close and re-open it's gone!?

The help text says: 'The enticing image your visitors will see in your site navigation that they can't resist clicking'. But if they can't see it, they can resist it, right?

Do any of these bugs get fixed? On a more important note... why can't I get a reply on my question about this? It's getting more than a bit annoying.

I'm having this issue too! It's really annoying. Sometimes it will show up in organized until I save and it's missing. Sometimes it will show up after save and then be gone again. Late last night was when it happened to me and has been an issue since. I was playing around with the potential of a temporary blog until SmugMug includes one or I can customize my wordpress to match. Anyway, these are the folders where I'm currently having issues: http://soulgazephotography.com/Blog
As of this post, I got the one to show up in the Soul Gaze Photography category. I added a gallery, made it unlisted and did what I did before. Either it's picking up the featured I added this time or the featured from the content inside the folder. I did the same for the Reviews category with no luck! <---- Edit: Ok, got it to display too, just took a few to display and some page refreshes. I think adding a gallery fixed it.

Ya, I'm thinking it has to do with one gallery in the folder. But it seems other would have the same issue too... I may just add another gallery and make it private to see if the 2nd gallery makes it work.
I get no reply when I ask about this as far as it being corrected.... Can you say deaf ears???? It never seems like anyone is out there answering what we ask.... it's us alone answering each other.... it's getting tiresome....

Since no one at SM cares to give a flippin answer or a work around...
If you add a second gallery w/ a pic or two, then make it private... the featured image immediately shows itself AND STICKS!!!!
Thanks for nothin!

I'm not sure what is causing the bug, but Michael's thoughts in post #7 was enough of a clue for me. All I did was add an empty gallery and make it unlisted. Then I saved organizer, reopened and then the feature image worked! There was a similar glitch in legacy that I believe was later fixed. I'm sure they'll solve this riddle too. As for the replies, Michael did provide the workaround clue, but I understand your frustration regarding the sound of crickets when help is requested. Don't give up! I'm proud of this community of Smuggers and our ability to help ourselves when needed. The Heroes have always been there when it was serious. Hopefully they'll get caught up soon and be back to their former heroics. :photo
